OUR MISSION

connect. motivate. mobilize.

Radical Generosity Chicago (RGC), a 501(c)(3) organization, embodies its name by connecting, motivating, and mobilizing communities to provide critical support to families facing food and housing insecurity in the Chicagoland area. Food, clothing, and other essential items are donated and distributed by families, schools, local civic groups, businesses, and volunteers nationwide.

Special thanks to Gabe Hatfield and Hatfield Post/Production for creating this video.

It all started in…

2013 when two colleagues (also dear friends), working as a child psychologist and a family advocate at La Rabida Children’s Hospital, wanted to help supply Thanksgiving turkeys to the Jackson Park Community.  A single email to friends and family initiated a movement that, a decade later, positively impacts over 10,000 shelter-insecure individuals annually!

  • Since RGC’s inception, the volume has increased exponentially (from 55 to over 10,000 people annually provided with food and other essential items – winter gear, toiletries, etc).  In addition, the donor base has grown more than 400%.

  • Our donors include amazingly generous families and organizations nationwide including:  Williams-Sonoma, Inc., National Charity League, West Elm, Make It Better Foundation, Chicago Fire Department Foundation, State Street Corporation, YogaSix Wilmette/Glenview, Woman’s Club of Wilmette, The Bottle Shop, Chia Leah, Wilmette Foundation Children’s Charities, Cub Scout Packs, Girl Scout Troops, Glenview Clovers 4H Club, youth service groups, sports teams, and schools (e.g., New Trier High School, District 39, The Academy of St Joan of Arc, Banner Preschool, SSJFX, School of Faith, Hope, & Charity).

RGC connects, motivates, and mobilizes families to build communities through service.
